Top-rated independent heating and cooling across North Texas and the Metroplex

Whole-Home Humidifiers

We install and service whole-home humidifiers on residential heating systems across Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, adding controlled moisture to the air your furnace or air handler is already moving. Homeowners usually call us in winter, when dry indoor air brings static shocks, cracked wood trim, chapped skin and a scratchy throat every morning. If your heater runs long cycles and the house still feels parched, call us and we will look at your ductwork, your humidity readings and what style of unit fits your setup.

What the job involves

A whole-home humidifier ties into your existing duct system, so the work happens at the furnace or air handler rather than room by room. We cut and seal a mounting plate into the supply or return plenum, run a water supply line with a shutoff, set a drain where the design calls for one, and wire the humidistat control. Most installs take part of a day. When the system runs, treated air carries moisture through the same registers that already heat your rooms.

What we check and install

Before anything gets mounted we measure indoor humidity, check duct static pressure and look at your return sizing, because a starved return changes how much air is available to carry moisture. We inspect the plenum for space, confirm a nearby water line, and check drainage options. From there we size the unit to your square footage and pick a bypass, fan-powered or steam style to match. On service calls we replace water panels, clear mineral scale, test the humidistat and check for leaks at the solenoid valve.

How we decide it is the right call

Dry air is a real problem, but not every complaint is a humidity problem. We take readings in several rooms first. If your home sits well below comfortable levels while the heat runs, a whole-home humidifier makes sense. If the readings are fine and you still feel dry or uneven, the answer may be duct leakage, a short-cycling heater or air moving through an unsealed attic. We would rather fix that than sell you a unit that masks it.

Whole-Home Humidifiers — quick answers

Will a whole-home humidifier cause mold or moisture damage?

Not when it is sized and controlled properly. The humidistat holds a set range and shuts off above it. Problems show up when a unit is oversized, left running with no control, or installed on leaky ductwork.

Does it run when the heat is off?

Bypass models need airflow, so they work while your heating system runs. Fan-powered and steam units can operate more independently. We match the style to how your system cycles and how your home holds humidity.

What maintenance does it need?

The water panel or pad usually gets replaced each heating season, and mineral scale needs clearing where water is hard. We also check the solenoid valve, drain and humidistat calibration during a service visit.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping. Details on your porch help us arrive with the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, the indoor coil and blower, then the outdoor unit and electrical side. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why it failed.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We walk you through the fix and any parts involved before we start. Once you say go, we make the repair and confirm the system is holding temperature before we leave your driveway.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for hard summersWe work on attic air handlers in July heat, undersized returns in older subdivisions, and condensers with hail-flattened fins. Those are everyday jobs across the region, so we know where these systems tend to give out first.
  • Air conditioner repair and heating repairOne crew for both seasons. Air conditioning repair when the house won't cool, heater repair and furnace repair when the burners won't stay lit. Same technicians, same records, so nobody starts from scratch in November.
  • We explain the failureYou hear which component failed and what it was doing to the rest of the system. If a repair is a short-term patch on an aging unit, we say so and let you decide the timing.
  • Respect for the houseDrop cloths, shoe covers, and the attic hatch closed the way we found it. We keep the work area clean and we tell you honestly when a problem is airflow or ductwork rather than the equipment itself.
  • All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
