What an AC Tune-Up Involves
We start at the thermostat and work outward. Inside, we pull the filter, look at the coil, check the blower wheel for dust buildup, and confirm the condensate drain is actually draining instead of backing up into a pan. Outside, we clear leaves and grass clippings from the condenser and wash the coil so it can shed heat. We take temperature readings at the supply and return, check electrical connections and capacitors, and measure how the system is performing under load.','
What We Check and What We Replace
Most tune-ups end with small parts, not big ones. A weak capacitor, a contactor with burned points, a clogged drain line, a filter that has been in place since last summer. We check refrigerant performance and airflow together, because low airflow from an undersized return will look like a refrigerant problem if you only read one number. If we find a bent fin pack from hail or a rusted-out drain pan, we tell you plainly and give you the option to fix it now or later.

How often should I get an AC tune-up?
Once a year is a reasonable rhythm in this part of the country, ideally in spring before the long stretch of hot weather. Systems with attic air handlers or heavy pollen exposure benefit from staying on that schedule.
Will a tune-up fix weak airflow?
Sometimes. A dirty filter, a dust-loaded blower wheel or a closed vent can all choke airflow, and we address those. If the return duct is undersized for the system, that is a duct correction, and we will explain what it takes.
Do I need a tune-up on a brand new system?
Yes. New equipment still collects debris in the outdoor coil and can develop loose electrical connections in the first couple of seasons. A yearly look keeps small issues from turning into an air conditioner repair in July.
