AC Replacement

We replace worn out or failed air conditioning systems in homes across Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, pulling the old equipment and setting a properly sized replacement in its place. Most homeowners call us when a compressor has quit, a coil is leaking refrigerant, or the system is old enough that another repair does not make sense. If your AC is still running but struggling, call us first for an air conditioner repair visit. If it is dead, we can measure your home and walk you through replacement options.

What an AC replacement actually involves

A replacement is a day of real work, not a swap. We recover the refrigerant from the old system, disconnect the electrical and line set, and remove the condenser outside and the coil or air handler inside. Then we set the new equipment, braze and pressure test the lines, pull a deep vacuum, and charge the system to the manufacturer's weight. We check static pressure and airflow before we leave, because a new unit on a starved duct system will run hot and short cycle.

What we check and install

We measure your home rather than matching the number on the old nameplate, since many systems in 90s subdivisions were oversized from the start. We look at return sizing, duct condition, and attic conditions where the air handler sits. Replacement work usually includes a new line set or a flush, a new pad or bracket, updated electrical disconnect, a fresh condensate drain and safety switch, and a thermostat that matches the equipment. Undersized returns get addressed, otherwise the new system inherits the old problem.

How we decide replacement is the right call

We repair first when repair makes sense. If the compressor is grounded, the coil is leaking in several places, or the system uses a refrigerant that is getting hard to source, we will say so plainly. Age matters too, along with how many times you have paid for the same failure. Hail damaged condenser fins can sometimes be combed and saved, sometimes not. We give you the repair cost and the replacement cost, then let you decide without pressure.

AC Replacement — quick answers

Do I have to replace the indoor unit too?

Usually yes. The outdoor unit and indoor coil are matched as a system, and pairing new with old often means poor performance and voided coverage. We will tell you if your existing coil is a genuine match.

How long does an AC replacement take?

Most straightforward residential replacements are done in one day. Attic installations, duct repairs or electrical changes can push it into a second day. We will give you a realistic window before we start.

Can you replace my AC in the middle of summer?

Yes, and that is when most people need it. Attic work gets brutal by afternoon, so we start early. If you are without cooling, tell us when you call and we will get you scheduled quickly.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping. Details on your porch help us arrive with the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, the indoor coil and blower, then the outdoor unit and electrical side. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why it failed.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We walk you through the fix and any parts involved before we start. Once you say go, we make the repair and confirm the system is holding temperature before we leave your driveway.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for hard summersWe work on attic air handlers in July heat, undersized returns in older subdivisions, and condensers with hail-flattened fins. Those are everyday jobs across the region, so we know where these systems tend to give out first.
  • Air conditioner repair and heating repairOne crew for both seasons. Air conditioning repair when the house won't cool, heater repair and furnace repair when the burners won't stay lit. Same technicians, same records, so nobody starts from scratch in November.
  • We explain the failureYou hear which component failed and what it was doing to the rest of the system. If a repair is a short-term patch on an aging unit, we say so and let you decide the timing.
  • Respect for the houseDrop cloths, shoe covers, and the attic hatch closed the way we found it. We keep the work area clean and we tell you honestly when a problem is airflow or ductwork rather than the equipment itself.
  • All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
